Qualifications

Job description

Phoenix Defense is seeking applicants for Aircraft Mechanic III positions at Ft. Eustis, VA. This position is in support of the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions Program (W-TRS). This position is contingent upon contract award.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

1. Inspect aircraft and subsystems for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including spot checks and audits of site programs and processes.
2. Provide technical guidance to less experienced mechanics, troubleshoot problems, and perform root cause analysis of failures.
3. Review work packages for completeness and accuracy.
4. Make database entries into the Electronic Maintenance Records system.
5. Generate weekly and ad hoc reports from the Electronic Maintenance Records system.
6. Conduct root cause analysis investigations for failure of parts or processes.
7. Record and analyze trends.
8. Demonstrate leadership by guiding teams through complex aircraft-related tasks.
9. Prioritize workload effectively to ensure organized and timely completion of projects.
10. This worker may be required to be licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. At least eight (8) years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Knowledge of various aviation or aerospace practices.
4. Knowledge of aviation inspection practices and quality standards.
5. At least four (4) years of experience with technical data/blueprints application and use.
6. At least four (4) years of experience analyzing situations to discover facts, knowledge, and interpretations for prescribed actions.
7. At least four (4) years of experience with aircraft logbooks and airworthiness release of aircraft.
8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).

Preferred Skills:

1. In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.
2. Foundational understanding of electrical theory.
3. Extensive familiarity with specialized aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators.
4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
5. Obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and installation driving privileges.
