Phoenix Defense is seeking applicants for Aircraft Mechanic III positions at Ft. Eustis, VA. This position is in support of the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions Program (W-TRS). This position is contingent upon contract award.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Inspect aircraft and subsystems for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including spot checks and audits of site programs and processes.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced mechanics, troubleshoot problems, and perform root cause analysis of failures.
- Review work packages for completeness and accuracy.
- Make database entries into the Electronic Maintenance Records system.
- Generate weekly and ad hoc reports from the Electronic Maintenance Records system.
- Conduct root cause analysis investigations for failure of parts or processes.
- Record and analyze trends.
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding teams through complex aircraft-related tasks.
- Prioritize workload effectively to ensure organized and timely completion of projects.
- This worker may be required to be licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least eight (8) years of relevant experience in aircraft maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of various aviation or aerospace practices.
- Knowledge of aviation inspection practices and quality standards.
- At least four (4) years of experience with technical data/blueprints application and use.
- At least four (4) years of experience analyzing situations to discover facts, knowledge, and interpretations for prescribed actions.
- At least four (4) years of experience with aircraft logbooks and airworthiness release of aircraft.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.
- Foundational understanding of electrical theory.
- Extensive familiarity with specialized aircraft tools, including test equipment, torque wrenches, and dial indicators.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and installation driving privileges.
