Job summary

Calista is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic III to inspect and maintain airframes, powerplants, prop rotors, ECS, fuels, and related components. The role requires hands-on maintenance, heavy engine work, and special oversight of CV-22 aircraft systems.

Applicants should have five+ years in aircraft mechanical maintenance, CV-22 experience, and the ability to interpret IETMs and official bulletins. Security clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years continuous aircraft maintenance in an aircraft mechanical specialty.
• Three years of CV-22 experience.
• Prior CV-22 Air Force 7 level or Red X qualification.

Responsibilities

• Perform preflight, post-flight, and phase inspections, inspecting and maintaining various systems, fuel, flight controls, prop rotor, utility, and power plants.
• Perform Hub, blade fold rigs, etc.
• Perform heavy maintenance including engine, PRGB, Hub removal and replacement.
• Perform acceptance inspections of critical flight control components after return from rework or upon receipt from the manufacturer.
• Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance of CV-22 aircraft.
• Perform complex system/sub-system troubleshooting.

Job description

Primary Function

The Aircraft Mechanic III will inspect and maintain airframes, powerplants, prop rotors, ECS, fuels, and associated components.

Essential Duties

• Perform preflight, post-flight, and phase inspections, inspecting and maintaining various systems, fuel, flight controls, prop rotor (to include weight and balance), utility, and power plants.
• Perform Hub, blade fold rigs, etc.
• Perform heavy maintenance to include engine, PRGB, Hub removal and replacement.
• Perform acceptance inspections of critical flight control components after return from rework or upon receipt from the manufacturer as well as aircraft acceptance and transfer inspections.
• Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance of CV-22 aircraft.
• Perform complex system/sub-system troubleshooting.
• Perform completion of O&I-level aircraft modifications/time compliance technical orders and one-time inspections.
• On the job training and documentation of training of active-duty maintenance technicians.
• Perform flight line driving/towing of aircraft/equipment.
• Additional duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have direct reports.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Seven years of continuous aircraft maintenance background/experience in an Aircraft Mechanical specialty on any fixed-wing or rotary aircraft
• Three years of CV-22 experience
• Prior APU and Blade Fold Wing Stow qualification
• Aircraft Tow qualified
• Refuel/Defuel qualified.
• Experience with tugs, forklifts, and cranes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five years continuous aircraft maintenance in an aircraft mechanical specialty on any fixed-wing or rotary aircraft
• Prior CV-22 Air Force 7 level or Red X qualified, or prior USMC CDI qualification.
• Three years of CV or V-22 experience or one year of documented recent (within the past three years) experience on the CV or V-22
• Extensive working knowledge using technical publications, bulletins, diagrams, ground support equipment, and precision tools in accordance with the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM)
• Ability to pass a drug and background screening
• This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration
