Position: Aircraft Mechanic II

Location: Eglin AFB, FL

Salary Rate: $38.00 - $41.00 hourly DOE

Position Summary

Tactical Air is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic to join our Maintenance team, supporting our fleet of fighter aircraft. Our team boasts over 75 years of combined experience in tactical aviation maintenance and more than 30 years of military adversary contract maintenance. Our maintenance staff is a dedicated team of experienced, A&P-certified, and tactical aircraft mechanics, technicians, and logisticians committed to ensuring safe and seamless ground operations.

Responsibilities

1. Perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance, including inspection, operational testing, repair, modification, and troubleshooting on aircraft, components, and equipment.
2. Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide technical guidance and instruction to team members.
3. Respond to the needs of the company, colleagues, and customers professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED with 3-4 years of applicable experience.
• Experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably in military or government aviation contexts.
• Experience with high-performance military aircraft (F-5/T-38).
• A&P Certification or ability to obtain it.
• Support Equipment Operator License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, Mobile Start Unit).
• Valid state driver's license.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.

Desired Skills

• A&P certification.

Physical Demands

• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with assistance.
• Use of hands and fingers for handling and operating tools and controls.
• Climbing stairs and ladders regularly.

Work Authorization & Conditions

• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. and completion of a U.S. government I-9 form.
• Participation in drug and alcohol testing programs.
• Exposure to loud noises, fumes, chemicals, and variable weather conditions.
• Handling hazardous materials may be required.
• Work hours are determined by operational needs, including possible evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel.
