Job summary

Draken International is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II to perform and supervise repairs on the company’s fleet of fighter jets, including post-flight and depot inspections. You will diagnose maintenance issues using technical data and ensure adherence to safety directives and technical orders.

The role requires 5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, the ability to travel up to 25% on TDY assignments, and flexibility to work various shifts.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with fighter aircraft is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel TDY and work varied shifts.
  • Must understand aircraft safety directives and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs/supervises repairs and maintenance on fighter aircraft.
  • Performs post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, phase and depot inspections.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components and related equipment.
  • Interprets maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and components.

JOB OVERVIEW
  • Performs/supervises repairs and maintenance functions on fighter aircraft
  • Performs post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, phase and depot inspections
  • Detects and advises problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft, removed components and related aerospace equipment
  • Use technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems
  • Interprets/advises on maintenance procedures/policies to repair aircraft, parts and equipment
  • Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment
  • Removes, installs and performs operational checks aircraft components
  • Maintains, rebuilds and/or overhauls aircraft components according to technical data
  • Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems
  • Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Fighter Jet Experience preferred
  • Must have at least 5 years hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
  • FAA A&P license preferred
  • Must be able to travel on TDY assignments
  • Must be able to work various shifts
  • Must have an in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives, aircraft/vehicle movement, flight line operations, aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications (read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematics, diagrams, drawings and technical orders)
  • Must have a working knowledge of computers
  • Obtain/maintain aircraft/equipment Red X/IPI certification
  • Obtain/maintain security clearance
  • Must meet ITAR compliance requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works in the hangar or on the flight line.

Extensive sitting to climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking

Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.

Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
