Job summary

Draken International is seeking skilled Aircraft Mechanics to maintain and operate its fleet of aircraft at Seymour Johnson, Kinston, NC. This contract role supports end-of-runway, preflight, and phase inspections, troubleshooting, and component overhauls to ensure readiness for mission flight profiles.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, with FAA A&P preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fighter Jet Experience preferred.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA A&P license preferred.
• Must travel on TDY assignments and work various shifts.
• Proficient with aircraft safety directives and flight line operations.
• Working knowledge of computers and technical orders.

Responsibilities

• Performs/supervises repair & reclamation and maintenance support functions.
• Performs end-of-runway, post-flight, preflight, thru-flight, and phase inspections.
• Detects and advises on problems maintaining, servicing, and inspecting aircraft, removed components and related aerospace equipment.
• Uses technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft systems.
• Interprets/advises on maintenance procedures/policies to repair aircraft, parts and equipment.
• Troubleshoots and maintains aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment.
• Removes, installs and operationally checks aircraft components.
• Maintains, rebuilds and/or overhauls aircraft components according to technical data.
• Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems.
• Supervises and performs aircraft jacking, lifting, and towing operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB OVERVIEW

• Must have an in-depth working knowledge of aircraft safety directives, aircraft/vehicle movement, flight line operations, aircraft technical orders/job guides/publications (read, interpret, follow and comprehend schematics, diagrams, drawings and technical orders)
• Must have a working knowledge of computers
• Obtain/maintain aircraft/equipment Red X/IPI certification
• Obtain/maintain security clearance
• Must meet ITAR compliance requirements

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly works in the hangar or on the flight line.

Extensive sitting to climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking

Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders and work stands.

Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
