Job description

Aircraft Mechanic I - DEA Program - Fort Worth, Texas

Join V2X Inc as an Aircraft Mechanic I - DEA Program - Fort Worth, Texas.

The Aircraft Mechanic I reports to the Lead Mechanic and performs work under FARs and a Part 145 Repair Station, supporting customer flight operations, maintenance, repairs, and modifications at the Aviation Operations Center (AOC) at Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing moderately difficult work with technical expertise to solve complex problems
  • Occasionally leading teams through complex projects and managing schedules
  • Working independently or under supervision
  • Making aircraft logbook entries and releasing aircraft for return to service
  • Maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty
  • Applying knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Traveling up to 50% to various locations
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED; technical trade school, military experience, or equivalent on-the-job training
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate required
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as an A&P mechanic, with at least 3 years on aircraft such as High Wing Cessna 206/210, King Air, Challenger, Citation, Bell 407/412, or MD-500 helicopters (preferred)
  • Recent experience within the last 12 months in a similar role
  • Knowledge of FARs and troubleshooting procedures
Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs; composite repairs (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Owns sufficient hand tools for A&P duties
  • Ability to obtain a DOJ Security Clearance
  • Valid US Passport and vaccinations for international travel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of aircraft mechanical components, electrical theory, rotor & propeller track and balance, technical publications
  • Leadership ability for complex tasks
  • Ability to make logbook entries and approve aircraft for service
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is primarily inside hangars or outside in various weather conditions, with exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical hazards. Personal protective equipment is required.
