Job description

Aircraft Mechanic I - DEA Program - Fort Worth, Texas

Join V2X Inc as an Aircraft Mechanic I - DEA Program - Fort Worth, Texas. The role reports to the Lead Mechanic and involves work under FARs and a Part 145 Repair Station, supporting customer flight operations, maintenance, repairs, and modifications at the Aviation Operations Center (AOC) at Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas.

The essential duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Performing moderately difficult work with technical expertise to solve complex problems.
  2. Occasionally leading teams through complex projects and managing schedules.
  3. Working independently or under supervision.
  4. Making aircraft logbook entries and releasing aircraft for return to service.
  5. Maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty.
  6. Applying knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  7. Traveling up to 50% to various locations.
  8. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED; technical trade school, military experience, or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience as an A&P, with at least 3 years on specific aircraft types (preferred).
  • Knowledge of FARs and troubleshooting procedures.

Skills and abilities required:

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural repairs and composites (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Own sufficient hand tools for A&P duties.
  • Ability to obtain DOJ Security Clearance.
  • Valid US Passport and vaccinations for international travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and parts replacement.
  • Basic electrical theory knowledge.
  • Experience with rotor & propeller track and balance.
  • Knowledge of technical publications and aircraft tools.
  • Ability to lead teams on complex tasks and make log entries for aircraft records.

Physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in various environmental conditions with appropriate PPE.

The work environment is primarily inside hangars or outside in diverse weather conditions, with exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and noise. PPE is required for safety.
