Aircraft Mechanic I - DEA Program - Fort Worth, Texas

Join V2X Inc as an Aircraft Mechanic I - DEA Program - Fort Worth, Texas.

Description

The Aircraft Mechanic I reports to the Lead Mechanic and performs maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft under FARs and a Part 145 Repair Station at the Aviation Operations Center (AOC) at Alliance Airport, Fort Worth, Texas.

The essential duties include:

  • Performing moderately difficult work with technical expertise to solve complex problems.
  • Occasionally leading teams through complex projects and managing schedules.
  • Working independently or under supervision.
  • Making aircraft logbook entries and releasing aircraft for service.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and modifying aircraft structures and components of moderate difficulty.
  • Applying knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Traveling up to 50% to various locations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; technical training, military experience, or on-the-job training preferred.
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate required.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on A&P experience, including at least 3 years on specific aircraft types (e.g., Cessna 206/210, King Air, Challenger, Citation, Bell 407/412, MD-500).
  • Recent experience in a similar role within the last 12 months.

Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft sheet metal, structural modifications, repairs, and composites (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Owns sufficient hand tools for A&P duties.
  • Ability to obtain a DOJ Security Clearance.
  • Valid US Passport and vaccinations for international travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Thorough troubleshooting knowledge of aircraft mechanical components.
  • Basic electrical theory knowledge.
  • Experience with rotor & propeller track and balance.
  • Knowledge of technical publications and aircraft-specific tools.
  • Ability to lead teams on complex tasks and make entries in aircraft logs.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform maintenance in various environments.

Work Environment

Primarily inside hangars with potential outdoor work in various weather conditions. Exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical hazards. Personal protective equipment is required.
