Job summary

Amentum is seeking a qualified aircraft mechanic to perform maintenance, inspections, and modifications on DoD aircraft in accordance with 14 CFR and applicable manuals. The role requires an FAA A&P certificate, ability to read schematics, and willingness to travel for duty assignments.

The candidate must pass random drug tests, obtain CBP background suitability clearance, and meet all safety and regulatory requirements. Strong English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation Suitability clearance; US Citizenship required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be competent in reading and interpreting schematics and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and modification of aircraft per 14 CFR and DoD data.
• Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft.
• Inspect, corrosion control, troubleshoot and fault isolate aircraft systems.
• May fly on Government aircraft for relocation, in-flight checks and ground troubleshooting when needed.
• May travel to temporary duty sites within and outside the United States.
• Furnish own hand tools; customer provides special tools and test equipment.
• May perform other duties to support the mission.
