Job Description
- Provides aircraft maintenance services to university-based and transient aircraft.
- Maintains, repairs and adjusts aircraft engines and components.
- Maintains and repairs aircraft frames.
- Flight controls, landing gear, flight instrument systems and related components.
- Performs airframe and engine regular interval inspections.
- Maintains and calibrates supporting tools and equipment.
Additional Information
- Work schedule is subject to changes in shift, hours and/or days as operations dictate.
- Pre-Employment Screening Information: This is a DOT identified safety sensitive position. All candidates must pass DOT pre-employment drug testing prior to being hired.
- Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education Requirement: Per Classified Civil Svc Specs or equivalent educ/exp.
- Airframe and Powerplant mechanic license issued by FAA.
- Valid driver's license.
- Desired: FAA Inspection Authorization.
- Desired: Knowledge of safety practices.
- Desired: Skill in mechanics.
- Desired: Operating ground equipment.
- Desired: Operating aircraft.
- Desired: Ability to understand aircraft mechanical systems.
- Desired: Ability to calculate fractions, decimals and percentages.
- Desired: Ability to read simple sentences with common vocabulary.
- Desired: Ability to cooperate with co-workers.
- Desired: Ability to show dexterity.
- Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $24.95 - $37.43. Final offers for positions will be based on candidate credentials, internal equity, and CWA/University approval.
