You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanic without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: maintained and repaired rotary wing aircraft to include changing oil and hydraulic pumps, lubricating aircraft components, and a variety of less complex maintenance functions. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time; or endure recurring activities such as bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching. Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Work is performed inside shops, aircraft, or outside in varying weather conditions. Exposed to high frequency and high intensity noises. Dirt, dust, grease, and fumes are normally present. Danger of the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, falls, and eye or skin irritations is possible.
