STS Technical Services is now hiring experienced Aircraft Mechanics in Rome, New York, to support legacy maintenance operations on a 1959 C-130 B Model aircraft. This short-term, high-impact role is ideal for technicians with military aircraft experience—especially those with a background in APG (Airframe, Powerplant, General) and strong hydraulic systems knowledge.

About the Role

As an Aircraft Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting key systems across one of the most iconic transport aircraft in military aviation history. The work you do will support restoration and maintenance efforts for a rare B Model C-130, ensuring functionality and flight readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed maintenance and repair on aircraft engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, flight controls, landing gear, and fuel systems
• Conduct both scheduled and unscheduled inspections following military standards and maintenance documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues using blueprints, technical orders, and engineering documents
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed to ensure compliance with DOT-regulated procedures
• Collaborate with on-site teams to ensure operational efficiency and mission readiness

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience performing APG maintenance on military aircraft
• Hands-on experience with legacy C-130 models preferred (B Model strongly valued)
• Strong working knowledge of aircraft hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with military technical manuals and maintenance protocols
• Must meet DOT-regulated work eligibility standards
• Willingness to travel and complete a full 2–3 month assignment
