The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on Rainier Flight Service’s fleet, ensuring all work complies with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards. This hands-on role emphasizes technical proficiency, teamwork, and safety.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation maintenance, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring safe and high-quality service. This position involves hands-on work in the maintenance shop, performing inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance on a variety of aircraft.

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring aircraft are maintained in accordance with federal regulations, Airworthiness Directives, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies.

As part of our team, you will contribute towards a safe, efficient, and profitable operation, ensuring timely and airworthy return of aircraft to service. Aircraft Maintenance Technicians report to the Maintenance Shop Lead.

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on various aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and Rainier Flight Service policies.
  • Ensure aircraft are returned to service in airworthy condition.
  • Communicate progress, time/material estimates, and technical issues to the Maintenance Lead or Supervisor.
  • Maintain or exceed required 80% billed work time
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including maintenance records, repair logs, and work orders.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Research and procure parts as needed, ensuring timely availability to meet repair schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of safety equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work on ladders, and perform tasks requiring bending and stooping.
  • Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electronic maintenance record-keeping systems.
  • Experience with FAA Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Compensation: Hourly wage of $25to $40, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Insurance: Health, dental, and vision insurance, with additional options for voluntary life, critical illness, and accident coverage. Benefits start on the first of the month after 60 days of employment.
  • Paid Time Off: PTO accrual begins on day one
  • Retirement Plan: 4% matching 401(k) after one (1) year of employment.
  • Training Opportunities: Instruction, aircraft access, and training materials available at reduced rates or free for continuing education, proficiency, and obtaining additional ratings
