Job summary

Flightcheck seeks a qualified Aircraft Maintenance Technician for a part-time on-site role in Louisville, KY. The position requires 3-5 years of experience, and an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license, with a High School diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.

You will read and interpret aircraft manuals, perform maintenance per FARs and procedures, ensure airworthiness, and deliver safe service while maintaining clear communication with customers and team members.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance.
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft maintenance per Flightcheck’s procedures, manuals, FARs and regulations.
  • Accomplish duties with emphasis on safety, quality, reliability and efficiency.
  • Complete maintenance work to ensure airworthiness and compliance.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals and documents to complete tasks.
  • Use and operate required maintenance equipment safely.
  • Maintain accurate company, customer and regulatory documentation.
  • Deliver professional customer service and clear communication; travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities


  • Perform all aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with Flightcheck’s RSM, QCM, customers’ procedures, FARs, and all other applicable rules and regulations

  • Accomplish job functions to the highest safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency standards

  • Complete aircraft maintenance work assignments to the highest standards to ensure aircraft airworthiness

  • Read, interpret, and comply with all aircraft maintenance manuals and other maintenance documents to complete work assignments

  • Properly use and operate support equipment in performance of assigned duties, i.e., servicing units, jacks, lifts, calibrated tooling, etc

  • Ensure all company, customer, and regulatory documents are complete and accurate

  • Deliver excellent customer service by maintaining clear, professional communication at all times

  • Occasional travel

  • Perform other duties as required



QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities


  • Ability to read, write, and understand English with the ability to interpret technical data and special operating instructions in the same language

  • Excellent communication and customer service-oriented

  • Provide own tools in accordance with the company minimum tool list

  • Must be able to pass background checks and pre-employment drug screening and obtain a security badge for the airfield



Education and Experience


  • 3-5 years of experience

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Valid Driver’s License



Physical Requirements


  • Ability to climb and work on ladders and platforms ranging from 6 to 10 feet tall

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend or twist for extended periods

  • Ability to lift and move up to 70 pounds

  • Ability to operate under extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces for extended periods



Workplace environment


  • Potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, and moving mechanical parts

  • Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat as well as other possible various weather elements

  • Noise level is typically loud
