Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector seeks an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Manager 1 to lead a team of aircraft mechanics and technicians at Ellsworth AFB, SD. The role requires overseeing maintenance, scheduling inspections, and ensuring airworthiness, with onboarding at CONUS locations prior to assignment.

Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED with maintenance experience, strong leadership, and willingness to travel up to 25% and support a 24/7 flightline schedule.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
1 year of leadership experience.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent oral and written communication.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Willingness to relocate/travel for initial training as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead daily operations of the aircraft team, motivating and developing technicians.
Oversee maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft and engines for airworthiness.
Ensure customer maintenance requirements are met and inspections are scheduled.
Release aircraft for flight and coordinate with stakeholders on timelines.
Recommend procedure changes to improve maintainability and inspection timeliness.
Maintain communication with customers and conduct briefings/meetings as required.
