Job summary

AviHire seeks a seasoned inspector to lead complex aircraft inspections and develop robust inspection protocols. You will ensure accurate documentation and address major compliance issues while mentoring junior inspectors. The role requires readiness for extended deployments and compliance with security requirements.

Strong experience with aviation inspections, a current FAA A&P certificate, and the ability to work across CONUS/OCONUS locations are essential.

• Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
• Advanced knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
• Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
• Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine the airworthiness of aviation products after maintenance.
• Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
• Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
• Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
• Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
• Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
• Willing to deploy OCONUS/CONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
• An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
• Thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
• Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.
• Experience with first article inspections.
• Prior experience with aircraft modifications.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions

• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
• Stand, walk, and climb ladders or stairs frequently.
• Work in diverse environmental conditions.
