Job summary

The Judge Group seeks an Aircraft Inspector/A&P Mechanic to inspect aircraft, systems, equipment and parts for airworthiness and conformance to manufacturer specs and government regulations.

You will perform in-process and final inspections of minor work (non-337) and approve returns to service for minor work. Candidates must hold an active FAA A&P certification and demonstrate thorough knowledge of aircraft and systems, with basic MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P certification is required.
• Thorough knowledge of aircraft, systems, equipment and parts.
• Experience applying product audit and inspection procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Able to perform physical tasks and safety-sensitive duties.
• High school diploma or GED with relevant experience preferred.

Job description

As an Aircraft Inspector/A&P Mechanic, you will be using your skills and expertise to inspect our aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure airworthiness and conformance to the manufacturer's specifications and government regulations.

You’ll be responsible for identifying any breach of standards for airworthiness. Your inspection authority will include all in-process inspections, final inspection of minor work (non-337 form), and approval for return to service of minor work (non-337 form).

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.

Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity.

Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.

Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.

Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)

Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.

Frequently exposed to loud noises.

Safety Sensitive Position:

Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.

Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials.

Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.

Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery

Skills Must-haves:

Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification

Thorough knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts

Understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures

Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Skills Preferred:

Basic understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1

Understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.

Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military

Education Must-haves:

High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience

A higher level degree may substitute for experience

Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
