Job summary

AviHire is seeking an experienced Inspection Lead to oversee all inspection activities for aerospace programs. You will serve as SME on complex compliance issues and drive improvements in inspection processes.

Requirements include FAA A&P certification, 7+ years of relevant experience, and ability to deploy to international and DoD locations. Strong documentation and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • A higher level degree may substitute for some experience.
  • Active FAA A&P certification.
  • Advanced knowledge of aircraft, systems, equipment and parts.
  • Understanding of product audit and inspection processes.
  • Basic MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to deploy to various CONUS/OCONUS locations.
  • Willingness to deploy internationally; must have passport.
  • Willing to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules.

  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
  • Advanced experience with and knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor and guide subordinates.
  • Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
  • Comprehensive understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.
  • Prior experience with first article inspections and/or aircraft modifications.
  • Experience as an FAA Designee for Conformity Inspections.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
Essential Functions
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, and climb ladders or stairs for extended periods.
  • Work in potentially hazardous environments.
  • Ability to travel may be required.
