Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic 1, Electronics to support U.S. Navy aviation maintenance operations at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA.

The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding aircraft structures and systems, following established manuals and data, and ensuring safe operation of aircraft. Qualified candidates will have at least three years of F/A-18 maintenance experience, Navy AT A School, US Navy NEC, and the ability to obtain necessary security clearances.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of actual and recent organizational-level F/A-18 A-G aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must hold US Navy 8341/E19A NEC.
• Must have completed Navy Aviation Electronics Technician AT “A” School.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties.
• Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident).
• Work is outdoors with exposure to weather, noise, and fumes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical publications and manuals.
• Must be able to obtain security clearance and CAC status.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections (preflight, thru-flight, post-flight) and routine maintenance as directed.
• Repair and replace aircraft components and systems per manuals and tech data.
• Read and follow maintenance instructions, service bulletins, and engineering data.
• Maintain maintenance records and verify completed work.
