Job description

Aircraft Production Test Electrical + Test Heavy Assemblers (Level B or Level C) – Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA).

Location: North Charleston, South Carolina. Variable shift. 100% onsite.

Primary Responsibilities

• Operating various mechanical lifts (e.g., ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts).
• Using various hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdriver meters, and continuity testers.
• Applying chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints, and special finishes.
• Inspecting work quality and checking for Foreign Object Debris.
• Working around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g., circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.
• Performing finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).
• Lifting and carrying up to 10–35 pounds.
• Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).
• Performing flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotating head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, and walking.
• Performing functional testing of aircraft electrical systems and components as well as aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair.
• Assessing and documenting test or analysis data to show compliance.
• Performing complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.
• Identifying roadblocks and production constraints, escalating issues that cannot be resolved by the team using open and clear communication.
• Supporting teammates to improve overall team performance by providing cross training and mentoring.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications

• Ability to work variable shifts (first, second, or third) based on business needs.
• Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6–8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 35 pounds; push/pull using up to 45 pounds of force; and reach overhead up to six hours per day.
• Ability to work with high-hazard chemicals using proper protective equipment.
• Ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications, if required.
• 1+ year experience using software applications such as internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or other specialized computer applications.
• 1+ year experience following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, along with successful completion of training and knowledge assessments involving mathematical calculations, all conducted in English.
• 1+ year experience in a manufacturing, technical, or mechanical field, including equivalent education or military experience, performing work with basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic (air) tools.
• 1+ year experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials.
• 1+ year experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, technical, or mechanical field, including equivalent education or military service.
• 3+ years of experience with functional testing of aircraft electrical systems.
• 3+ years of experience with functional testing of IFE systems knowledge.
• 3+ years of experience with aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair.

Pay & Benefits Summary

• Level B: $54,000 - $64,000.
• Level C: $61,200 - $64,500.
