Job summary

SES is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Airframe & Powerplant 1, to support the Intelsat airborne system. This role focuses on troubleshooting avionics, developing diagnostics, and collaborating with Operations, Development, and System Engineering.

You will define maintenance procedures, lead cross‑functional teams to triage issues, and generate weekly metrics. A US Person status is required due to ITAR/EAR; a mechanical engineering background and 2 years in fleet support are

Qualifications

• Ability to address and troubleshoot problems associated with aircraft-based equipment.
• Experience with avionics and flight systems.
• This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident).

Responsibilities

• Support systemic aircraft issues related to the Intelsat airborne system.
• Define, Review and Modify installation/Maintenance documents and procedures.
• Proactively identify, develop, and drive opportunities to improve processes and tools to increase the overall effectiveness of the team.
• Lead cross functional teams on triaging system interaction issues and driving them to closure.
• Define dashboards and metrics; establish SLA for the work conducted
• Create, review, and modify maintenance manuals, fault isolation manuals, Service bulletins.
• Proactively identify defects by reviewing system data logs
• Collect data and generate weekly/monthly metrics on all issues reported, triaged and resolved meeting the defined SLA
• Be an SME for HDW related technical issues and training other team members
