Job summary

SES Satellites in Chicago, IL is seeking an Engineer, Fleet Support to develop hardware and software diagnostic tools for the in-cabin system and to troubleshoot remote and on-site issues on the Intelsat airborne platform.

You will collaborate with Operations, Development and System Engineering, define maintenance procedures, create dashboards, and act as a subject matter expert on HDW related technical issues while driving defect resolution and process improvements.

Qualifications

• FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certifications required.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems associated with aircraft-based equipment.
• Experience with avionics and flight systems.
• This role is ITAR/EAR restricted; must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident).
• Reading electrical schematics is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support systemic aircraft issues related to the Intelsat airborne system.
• Define, Review and Modify installation/maintenance documents and procedures.
• Proactively identify, develop, and drive opportunities to improve processes and tools to increase team effectiveness.
• Lead cross-functional teams on triaging system interaction issues and driving them to closure.
• Define dashboards and metrics; establish SLA for the work conducted.
• Create, review, and modify maintenance manuals, fault isolation manuals, and service bulletins.
• Proactively identify defects by reviewing system data logs.
• Collect data and generate weekly/monthly metrics on all issues reported, triaged and resolved meeting the defined SLA.
• Be an SME for HDW related technical issues and training other team members.
