Job Description

This position is eligible for a $7500 Sign-On Bonus if eligibility requirements are met!

AirCare is part of an EMS network serving patients in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, and South Carolina. It includes air (helicopter) and ground ambulances stationed strategically to provide fast, safe transportation for critically ill and injured patients.

Job Summary:

Provides emergency care per treatment protocols in accordance with NCCEP and N.C. Office of EMS standards. Serves as a care team member in the Emergency Department, caring for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Qualifications:
  • Paramedic certification from an accredited program or an A.A.S. in paramedic studies or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years Emergency Service experience preferred
  • Required certifications: BCLS, NC-OEMS EMT-P; ACLS or PALS may be required within one year
  • Preferred: Critical care certification or national registry paramedic
Essential Functions:
  • Provide patient-centered care respecting physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and environmental needs
  • Ensure safety, privacy, and professionalism in all interactions
  • Communicate effectively within the healthcare team
  • Participate in professional development and adhere to standards of care
  • Act as patient advocate throughout the continuum of care
  • Use medications and treatments within scope and as ordered by physicians
  • Maintain competency in point of care testing and documentation
  • Support evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and evaluate verbal/nonverbal cues
  • Physical ability to push, lift, and position patients and equipment
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation
  • Compliance with applicable laws and policies
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Handles emergency situations, works in stressful and crowded conditions, and wears PPE. Physical activity includes standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
