Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Waco, TX, is seeking a Specialist, Systems Engineer to support development, design, architecture, test, integration, and certification of complex airborne systems.

You will lead IPTs, translate requirements, interact with customers, and craft system-level specifications. The role requires a background in electrical, mechanical, systems, or software engineering and a track record in systems engineering and integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and minimum 4 years of relevant prior experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of work experience in a directly applicable field.
• Demonstrated expereince with systems engineering and integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop physical architectures incorporating mission system equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers.
• Translate customer and airworthiness requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements.
• Lead Program Integrated Product Teams of cross-disciplined engineers with internal and external members.
• Become a focal point for conversation with the customer on technical issues.
• Define requirement traceability methods.
• Perform the systems engineering trade study process.
• Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness.
• Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
• Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design.
• Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals.
• Ability to use standard Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Ability to operate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM).
