Job summary

Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) in Alexandria, VA seeks an Air Warfare Analyst to support operational evaluation of airborne early warning, fighter, and bomber systems. You will analyze tests, models, and simulations and provide independent assessments to the Director of OT&E.

Travel up to 25% is required. The role requires strong quantitative skills, experimental experience, and security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• PhD in Engineering, Science, or Applied Mathematics or related field with 4+ years of experience.
• Master's in Engineering/Science with 6+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated computational and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar data analytics tools.
• Experience with aircraft operations, testing, or acquisition preferred.
• Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Advise mid- and senior-level civilian and military officials on operational evaluation of airborne systems.
• Analyze design, execution, and results of operational testing and related modeling/simulation activity.
• Provide independent assessments to the Director, Operational Test and Evaluation.
• Interact with officials responsible for planning, development, and execution of tests.
