Job summary

IDA’s Operational Evaluation Division in Alexandria, VA seeks an Analyst to support the assessment of airborne systems and related test programs. You will analyze testing design, execution, and results, and provide independent assessments to senior officials.

The role requires advanced degrees with years of operational or analytical experience, security clearance eligibility, and travel up to 25%. The organization emphasizes rigorous, objective research in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• PhD in Engineering, Science or Applied Mathematics or a quantitative interdisciplinary program plus required years of experience.
• Demonstrated computational and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar data analytics tools and software.
• Experience with aircraft operations, acquisition, or testing preferred.
• Security clearance eligibility and TS/SCI clearance preferred; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Support and advise officials on operational evaluation of airborne warning, fighter and bomber aircraft, and related systems.
• Analyze design, execution, and results of operational testing and modeling/simulation activities.
• Provide independent assessments to the Director, OED.
