The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Morristown, NJ is seeking an Operations Supervisor for a terminal facility. You will plan and direct operations within delegated areas and provide first line supervision to Developmental and Certified Professional Controllers.

Formación

• Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or HQ positions for at least 1 year (52 weeks).
• Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) at an ATS facility.
• Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility.
• NOTE: There are no restrictions on who can apply to MSS vacancies at those facilities with 3 or less MSS levels.
• Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
• Candidates will be evaluated on four 'Managerial Selection Factors'. Provide narrative responses addressing Leadership and Management Dimensions with references for verification.
• Eligible candidates will be evaluated based on HR policy manual (HRPM), Volume 1.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises a staff of Air Traffic Control Specialists responsible for carrying out air traffic control assignments within a geographic area.
• Plans and assigns work to subordinate employees; sets work priorities and schedules.
• Approves leave; provides advice, counsel, and instruction on work and administrative matters.
• Evaluates performance and recommends ratings; addresses grievances and escalates as needed.
• Identifies and arranges for developmental and other training needs; seeks ways to improve production and quality.
• Adjusts staffing and procedures to reflect resource decisions; collaborates on goals and tracks accomplishments.
