Job summary

thyssenkrupp Supply Chain SVC in Lafayette, IN seeks a Warehouse Team Lead II to oversee warehouse operations during shifts, coordinate a team receiving, storing, and distributing materials, and provide on-the-job training. This role focuses on meeting customer requirements while complying with safety and quality processes.

Responsibilities include directing daily warehousing activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, coaching employees, and reporting performance to supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a supervisor, team lead or mentor.
  • Ability to foster teamwork between diverse activities.
  • Ability to manage a large employee base with crossover into various assigned shifts.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and analytical thinking skills.

  • Set day-to-day operational objectives for the team.
  • Direct and monitor all warehouse activities related to movement, storage, and inventory control.
  • Oversee diverse assignments and ensure completion of work across shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution.
  • Ensure all employees work safely and in accordance with health and safety policies.
  • Coordinate shift start-up activities and end-of-shift cleanup.
  • Ensure tools and materials are available for completion of jobs.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new work instructions.
  • Provide input to Supervisor/Manager regarding performance.
  • Report accidents or policy violations promptly.
  • Support health and safety initiatives and requirements.
  • Work directly on the warehouse floor or around heavy machinery.

Your responsibilities

Job Summary The Warehouse Team Lead II oversees operations for the warehouse during assigned shifts. Coordinates a team that receives, stores, and distributes materials, equipment, and/or supplies. Provides on-the-job training as needed. Ensures completion of work and customer requirements while complying with all company quality and safety processes. Responsible to provide input to Supervisor or Manager regarding employee performance. This role has little authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead by example; practicing professionalism and good organizational skills in all areas inclusive of internal and external warehouse activities.
  • Set day-to-day operational objectives for the team.
  • Leads processes and teams associated with planning, directing, and monitoring all warehouse activities related to movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, packaging and machinery.
  • Oversee diverse assignments and proper completion of work activities of employees in various work groups and/or shifts.
  • Monitors operations for compliance with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution where applicable.
  • Ensure all employees work safely and in accordance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the coordination of shift start-up activities as well as end of shift clean up or other activities.
  • Ensure appropriate tools and materials are available for completion of jobs.
  • Provide on the job training for any new work instructions when applicable.
  • Provide input to Supervisor or Manager regarding performance.
  • Report any accidents or incidents that occur immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.
  • Report any policy or procedure violations to Supervisor or Manager.
  • Participate, support and comply with all health and safety initiatives and requirements.
  • This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor or around heavy machinery.
