Qualifications

• Residency in Wisconsin required at time of application.

• 5+ years of work experience in Business Development or Expansion.
• 3+ years of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role.
• Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.

Air Service Development Manager

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Airport Director, this position will grow and retain passenger and cargo services through data-driven analysis and proactive relationship development with air carriers and cargo operators. This position will develop and implement communication and presentation strategies and programs that focus on recruitment and retention of air service for Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport. The position will examine industry trends, market analysis, work with consultants and industry experts to make sure Milwaukee is utilizing statistics and strategies that will aid in the development of air service. The position will work with airlines to secure all necessary information to either start or expand service at MKE.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop air service strategies for attracting and retaining air service - Responsible for the development of air service strategies that attract and retain air service, drive passenger traffic growth, and increase air service at the airport. Develop programs and initiatives that aid airlines in providing service to new cities, maintain service to currently served cities, and attract new airlines to the airport.
• Maintain connections to air service providers and those in related industry - Establish and maintain strong relationships with representatives of the aviation industry and stakeholder groups such as airlines, air cargo operators, travel agents, corporate travel personnel, tourism and economic development agencies.
• Data Collection and Interpretation - Track and monitor all related capacity, load factors, passenger data, and utilization statistics to determine trends, identify service strengths and weaknesses, to help create strategies to target areas of concern or need.
• Liaison for airline startup and/or service expansion - Provide airlines with the required information related to start up or expansion of operations. This includes provided information related to airport pro forma information, cost per enplanement, cost of gate leasing, and other fees associated with airline operational start up or expansion costs.
• Monitor Industry Trends - Monitor industry trends in attracting and retaining airlines. Monitor airlines activity in terms of industry news that informs of airline capacity expansion or contraction, mergers, acquisitions, or new entrants that may have an impact to air service in Milwaukee. Analyze related data of market conditions and prepare recommendations to improve traffic and financial results.
• Air Service Development Program - Develop and administer air service incentive programs, when available, including monitoring budgets, performance, and short- and long-term success of the program.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 10 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences

• Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
• Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and a reliable insured vehicle are required and must be maintained throughout incumbency
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Economics, Public Relations or closely related field required
• Five (5) years or more of work experience in Business Development or Expansion required
• Three (3) years or more of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required
• Advanced knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required

Preferred Experiences

• Airline network and/or schedule planning, data analytics, research, concept development and presentation skills preferred
