Job summary

Matheson Tri-Gas in Kentucky is seeking a Production Technician responsible for maintaining and improving plant performance. This non-shift role requires mechanical, instrument and electrical maintenance, with on-call expectations for plant needs.

You will read drawings, troubleshoot equipment, calibrate test instruments, ensure compliance with FDA/OSHA quality systems, and help optimize processes while supporting safe plant operations.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree, High School diploma, Technical School or related industrial experience required.
• 1-3 years experience with compressors, pumps, valves and expanders; Instrument & electrical testing equipment preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• On call for plant needs of any kind; strong analytical skills.
• Clean driving record.
• Strong safety knowledge for the Industrial Gas Industry.
• Strong understanding of Air Separation Principles; compressors, pumps and expanders.
• Knowledge of electrical motors and power distribution; electrical safety.
• Ability to use I&E test equipment (DVM, megger, calibrator, transmitter simulator).
• Troubleshooting skills on PLCs, voltage panels, and vibration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manipulates air separation controls to meet product specifications and production requirements.
• Adjust plant control variables; monitor and manage process equipment parameters.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and process diagrams.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and take corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain production records and QA documentation.
• Maintain safety practices and compliance with quality systems.
• Support startup/shutdown of plants safely and efficiently.
• Optimize plant performance by monitoring data and applying best practices.
