Job summary

Teichert is seeking an experienced Air Quality Specialist/Engineer to lead permitting efforts for stationary and portable equipment across California and western Nevada. You will prepare, submit, and manage ATC and PTO applications, quantify emissions, and coordinate with regulatory agencies to ensure timely issuance.

The role requires 5–8 years of air quality permitting experience, deep knowledge of local districts, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five to eight years of experience preparing air quality permit applications (Authority to Construct / Permit to Operate) for stationary or portable sources in California.
  • Working knowledge of the California local air district permitting system, New Source Review, BACT, air toxics evaluation, and CARB programs including PERP.
  • Willingness to travel to California and western Nevada.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and manage complete and technically defensible air quality permit applications (ATC, PTO) for stationary and portable equipment.
  • Quantify emissions (NOx, SOx, CO, VOC, PM/PM10/PM2.5, TACs) using regulatory methods and emission factors.
  • Review permit conditions and negotiate enforceable language with district engineers.

Education

Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental science, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of training, education, and experience will be considered.
