Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Air Quality Project Manager to lead air permitting and compliance services across power, industrial, commercial and manufacturing sectors. The role sits within the Environmental Services Global Practice, with opportunities for advancement and a variety of projects.

You will oversee permit preparation, site assessments, emissions estimates, and regulatory filings, working with clients and teams to manage scope, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field with 7+ years of applicable experience; 10 years preferred.
• Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
• Experience in air pollution permitting and compliance consulting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations (Clean Air Act).
• Familiarity with dispersion models (AERMOD/AERSCREEN/CALPUFF).
• Proven ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Prepare air permit application packages and related documentation.
• Conduct environmental site assessments to ensure compliance.
• Estimate routine emissions, greenhouse gases, and other emissions.
• Manage projects, budgets, and timelines with clients and team members.
• Prepare documentation for SWPPPs, SPCC, and EPCRA filings.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and company standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
