Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks an Air Quality Project Manager to lead permitting and compliance services for power, industrial, commercial, transportation, and manufacturing sectors.

Position sits within the Environmental Services Global Practice with diverse project work and growth opportunities. Responsibilities include permit packages, site assessments, emission estimates, and client coordination. Strong Clean Air Act knowledge and dispersion-model familiarity are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related Engineering field.
  • 7+ years of relevant air permitting and compliance experience (10 years preferred).
  • Consulting experience in air pollution permitting and compliance preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local air regulations (Clean Air Act, NSR/PSD, Title V).
  • Experience with air quality dispersion models is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare air permit applications and documentation.
  • Conduct site assessments and inspections for regulatory compliance.
  • Estimate routine emissions, GHGs, startups and shutdowns.
  • Manage projects, budgets, and timelines with clients and team.
  • Assist with SWPPP, SPCC, EPCRA documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and company policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.
