Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Environmental Quality is seeking an Environmental Specialist I (NS) in the Winston-Salem Regional Office to work in air quality compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental or related sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal air quality rules and regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site inspections and compliance visits at industrial facilities.
• Evaluate air emissions inventory reports and conduct stack test observations.
• Respond to citizen complaints on air quality and prepare technical reports.
• Operate ambient monitoring equipment and maintain certification.
