Job summary

EgeTrans Internationale Spedition GmbH in Schaumburg, IL is seeking an Air Import Specialist to manage international air import shipments from arrival to final delivery. You will coordinate with customers, airlines, customs brokers, and partners to ensure a smooth, reliable process.

You will monitor daily shipments, communicate delays, prepare notifications, and support billing. A fast-paced, customer-focused environment requires strong organization and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in air import operations and end-to-end shipment processes.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced air freight environment.
• Strong customer service mindset and professional communication.
• Organized, focused and professional under challenging situations.
• Experience with dispatching truckloads, expedited trucks and LTL freight preferred.
• AS/400 experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of German or Spanish is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track daily air import shipments from arrival to final delivery.

• Ensure customer deadlines and service commitments are met.
• Coordinate terminal fee payments and verify customs clearance status.
• Arrange and monitor final mile deliveries (truckload, expedited, LTL).
• Follow up with airlines, carriers and partners for smooth execution.
• Prepare shipment billing and support win/loss analysis.
• Communicate daily with customers, customs brokers, airlines and transportation providers by phone and email.

Every shipment tells a story - and you make sure it reaches the right destination. As a Air Import Specialist, you will manage international air import shipments from arrival to final delivery. Working closely with customers, airlines, customs brokers, carriers and our global partners, you ensure a smooth, reliable and customer-focused transportation process every step of the way.

Your Tasks

• You monitor and track daily air import shipments from arrival through final delivery.
• You keep shipment status information up to date and proactively communicate delays to customers.
• You prepare and send arrival notifications.
• You ensure customer deadlines and service commitments are consistently met.
• You coordinate terminal fee payments and verify customs clearance status.
• You arrange and monitor final mile deliveries, including truckload, expedited and LTL shipments.
• You follow up with airlines, carriers and transportation partners to ensure smooth execution.
• You prepare shipment billing and support win/loss analysis.
• You communicate daily with customers, customs brokers, airlines and transportation providers by phone and email.
