Job summary

SPX Technologies in Madison, AL is seeking an Assembler I to independently assemble cooling towers or custom air handling systems per engineering drawings and build orders. You will perform mechanical assembly, system integration, troubleshooting, and finish assembly while learning blueprint interpretation and assembly techniques under supervision.

Ideal candidates have basic mechanical aptitude, the ability to follow instructions, and a safety-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn assembly processes
• Ability to follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and verbal direction
• Ability to safely utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and standard assembly equipment
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts safely and effectively
• Ability to develop blueprint reading and assembly interpretation skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
• Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and work assignments
• Commitment to safety and quality standards

Responsibilities

• Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts to manufacture air handling systems
• Interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering revisions accurately
• Assemble and install mechanical, structural, and modular system components
• Independently assemble complete custom air handling units from start to finish using engineering drawings and build orders
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and follow safety procedures
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in improving assembly efficiency and workflow
