Job summary

xpd global in California is seeking an experienced Air Freight Operations Specialist to manage air export and/or import shipments from booking to billing, ensuring on-time delivery and accurate documentation.

The role requires coordinating bookings, airline capacity, trucking, cargo recovery, and billing while applying AES and TSA requirements and maintaining strong communication with customers and partners.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of hands-on air freight operations experience within freight forwarding.
• Strong air export and/or air import background, with proven experience managing shipments A–Z.
• Practical experience coordinating bookings, airlines, truckers, documentation, cargo recovery, shipment follow-up and billing.
• Working knowledge of AES, TSA requirements, and air freight documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage air export and/or air import shipments from booking through final delivery and billing.
• Coordinate bookings, airline capacity, trucking, cargo recovery and shipment follow-up.
• Prepare, review and process air freight documentation accurately and on time.
• Apply knowledge of AES and TSA requirements to relevant shipment activities.
• Communicate shipment status and updates to customers and operational partners.
• Resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and other operational issues.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and complete billing promptly.

At xpd global, we are looking for an experienced Air Freight Operations Specialist to strengthen our team. The ideal candidate has a dedicated air freight background and can independently manage air export and/or air import shipments from start to finish.

Job Title: Air Freight Operations Specialist

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5

Annual Base Salary: USD $55,000–$60,000, based on experience. Maximum salary: $60,000.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of hands-on air freight operations experience within freight forwarding.
• Strong air export and/or air import background, with proven experience managing shipments A–Z.
• Practical experience coordinating bookings, airlines, truckers, documentation, cargo recovery, shipment follow-up and billing.
• Working knowledge of AES, TSA requirements, and air freight documentation.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Canadian air freight a plus.
• CargoWise experience is a strong plus.
