Job summary

Apollo Freight in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Air Freight Import Account Manager to own and grow key air import accounts, focusing on customs clearance, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.

You will oversee end-to-end import processes from cargo arrival through final delivery, ensuring timely clearance and compliant operations for a dynamic, seasonally demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• 3–5 years of experience in air freight import, customs brokerage, or international logistics preferred
• Proven experience in account management, customs clearance, or customer-facing roles within freight forwarding

Responsibilities

• Maintain full ownership of assigned air import customer accounts and ensure timely communication throughout the import process.
• Manage air import shipments from pre-arrival through customs clearance, release, and final delivery.
• Coordinate customs clearance activities and ensure compliance with CBP, PGAs and import regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, airlines, government agencies, and other partners.
• Review documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Work with customs brokerage teams to resolve entry issues and delays.
• Negotiate pricing and service agreements while maintaining margins.
• Identify opportunities to grow accounts by expanding services.
• Proactively resolve customer concerns and shipment issues.
• Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth import execution.
• Monitor performance and provide visibility and KPI reporting.
• Analyze account performance to identify improvements and growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Prepare reports on account performance and market trends.
• Stay informed on regulation changes to provide guidance and compliance
