DHL Global Forwarding Jamaica, NY is seeking an Air Freight Export Supervisor to oversee the end-to-end Air Freight Export activities, including Operations and Customer Service. This role drives performance and profitability for the local product team while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

You will lead and develop staff, collaborate with internal partners to improve processes, and manage month-end financials and carrier performance.

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred; minimum 2 years supervisory experience in logistics/transportation.
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentations).
• Comprehensive knowledge of Air Freight Export processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control end-to-end Air Freight Export activities.
• Escalation contact for customer shipments; manage financials and KPIs.
• Ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance for shipments and staff.
• Collaborate with Gateway, Trucking, Handling, and Sales to improve service quality.
• Review month-end reports, P/L, A/P and A/R; address carrier issues with the product team.
• Supervise unionized staff; hire, coach, train, and manage performance.

Job Title: Air Freight Export Supervisor
Job Location: Jamaica, New York

We have an exciting opportunity for an Air Freight Export Supervisor who will be responsible for the end to end performance and profitability of the local Air Freight Export product team which includes Operations and Customer Service. This role drives performance of the team while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manages, oversees, and performs supervisory tasks to direct and control activities performed to effectively manage the end to end Air Freight Export processes
• Serves as the escalation contact for customer’s Air Freight Export shipments; responsible for the financial aspects and results; sets, communicates, and drives KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction
• Assumes responsibility for good working practices, safety, and security for customer shipments and staff
• Collaborate with internal customers (Gateway, Trucking, and, Handling etc.) for seamless customer service and improve process flows; engage with sales to grow business by participating in sales meetings and customer calls
• Review and manage month end reports, review P/L, open Accounts Payables Accounts Receivables; escalates carrier performance issues when required with the US Air Freight Product team
• Supervises unionized staff; responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff. Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes

Skills / Requirements

• BA/BS preferred or minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within the logistics / transportation industry
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations)
• Comprehensive knowledge of Air Freight Export processes
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
• Demonstrated leadership ability to include driving KPIs, employee engagement / team building. Strong ability to develop, coach, train, and mentor staff to success
• Previous supervisory experience in a Unionized environment is preferred
• Basic knowledge of Cargo Wise system is preferred

Pay Range: $90,656.25 - $120,875.00+ (Based on Experience)
