Altius Talent partners with a well-established freight forwarding and customs brokerage organization in New Jersey to identify an experienced Air Export Operator in Cranford, NJ. The role handles end-to-end air export shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, AES compliance, and timely delivery for clients, working closely with carriers and internal teams in a hybrid environment.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in air export or freight forwarding, strong AES and IATA knowledge, and CargoWise

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an Air Export Operator or in a similar freight forwarding role.
• Strong knowledge of AES filing, export documentation, and IATA regulations.
• Experience with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills for client and carrier coordination.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage air export shipments from booking through delivery.
• Prepare export documentation including AWBs, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
• Ensure compliance with AES filing requirements and export regulations.
• Book cargo space with airlines and negotiate rates as needed.
• Track shipments and proactively communicate status updates to clients.
• Maintain accurate records in the company's operating system (e.g., CargoWise).
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, agents, and clients.

Position Overview:

The Air Export Operator will manage the end-to-end handling of air export shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery for clients.
