Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an Air Detention Officer to join the security team. You will support charter aircraft operations, ensure the safety of noncitizens and crew, and uphold security procedures on board and at ports of call.

Ideal candidates are US citizens with security officer certification, able to travel and work extended shifts, and capable of reporting clearly. Spanish is preferred, and computer literacy is needed to maintain records.

Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen and able to obtain required visas/inoculations.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant security/public safety experience.
• Must be certified as a Security Officer in the state of employment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and write detailed reports.
• Punctual, reliable, and able to work long irregular shifts.
• Spanish bilingual is preferred.
• Willing to travel and work overtime; pass background checks.
• Proficient with computers and department software.

Responsibilities

• Loads/unloads noncitizens onto/off the aircraft, including those needing assistance.
• Searches for contraband, feeds noncitizens, and escorts to restrooms.
• Applies and removes restraints as required.
• Identifies proper documentation and conducts post flight checks.
• Maintains security of aircraft and surrounding areas per procedures.
• Performs duties to secure personnel and property until relieved.
• Reports violations and unusual events; erupts in emergencies as needed.
