Job summary

Randstad USA in Chattanooga, TN is hiring an Air Compressor Field Service Technician for a premier, 100% employee-owned industrial solutions provider. This role offers stability, strong health coverage, and equity through ESOP.

You will service air compressors, read schematics, repair mechanical and fluid systems, and travel to client sites in a company service vehicle. The schedule is 8 AM–5 PM; no degree is required.

Qualifications

  • Must-Have: Air compressor service experience
  • Electrical Diagnostics: reading schematics to troubleshoot 3-phase motors, VFDs, PLCs
  • Fluid & Mechanical Systems Repair: servicing compressors, pumps, blowers, vacuum systems
  • Air Treatment & Auxiliary Care: servicing dryers, condensate drains, air receivers, oil/water separators
  • System Installation & Piping: setting up new compressor packages, running air lines
  • Field Customer Service: travel to client sites, diagnose outages, advise maintenance managers

Responsibilities

  • Must-Have: Air compressor service experience
  • Electrical & Controls Diagnostics: reading electrical schematics to troubleshoot 3-phase high-voltage motors, motor starters, VFDs, pressure switches, and PLCs
  • Fluid & Mechanical Systems Repair: servicing rotary screw compressors, reciprocating pumps, blowers, and vacuum systems—including changing oil, replacing separators/filters, adjusting belts, and repairing valves or seals
  • Air Treatment & Auxiliary Care: servicing refrigerated and desiccant air dryers, condensate drains, air receivers, and oil/water separators to ensure air purity
  • System Installation & Piping: setting up new compressor packages, running air lines, and balancing system pressure for optimal efficiency
  • Field Customer Service: driving to client facilities in a company service vehicle, diagnosing emergency outages on-site, and advising maintenance managers on preventative solutions
  • Working in a smoke free environment
  • Wearing steel toe shoes
  • Working in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • Manual lifting up to 50lbs
  • Overtime up to 5 hrs per week
