Infinity Natural Resources, an oil and gas exploration and production company in the Appalachian Basin (HQ’d in Morgantown, WV), is seeking a detail-oriented Air Compliance Technician to ensure regulatory adherence across our Ohio and Pennsylvania operations. This field-based role involves inspections, maintenance, and meticulous recordkeeping for drilling, completion, production, and gathering pipeline activities, supporting air emissions control and leak detection. This role can be based out of our Morgantown, WV or Marietta, OH office locations with up to 80% travel to field locations throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Conduct Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) inspections on oil and gas sites and facilities, ensuring compliance with state (e.g., Ohio EPA, PA DEP) and federal (e.g., NSPS OOOOa, OOOOb) air quality regulations and internal protocols; maintain thorough records of inspections, maintenance, and corrective actions as required by permits, regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform field maintenance and implement corrective actions on emission sources, including replacing gaskets and thief hatches, and executing other minor mechanical adjustments or component replacements for emission control equipment.
  • Actively participate in safety inspections during simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) at drilling and completion sites to ensure air compliance and overall safety; collaborate and communicate with Production, Operations, and Regulatory teams to support compliance initiatives and address related issues.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews of field data and inspection results to ensure accuracy; efficiently upload, organize, and maintain all inspection data within designated electronic databases.
  • Work independently to plan, prioritize, and execute daily field assignments; travel extensively (approximately 70–80% of work time, including overnight stays) across assigned operating areas in Ohio and Pennsylvania for field work.
  • Dedicate approximately 20–30% of work time to office-based tasks, including accurate data entry, generating compliance reports, and maintaining necessary documentation; strictly adhere to all company safety regulations and actively participate in required safety meetings and training programs.

Your Background:
  • Associate's degree in a technical field (e.g., environmental science, engineering technology) or a closely related discipline is preferred. Consideration may be given to candidates with a minimum of two (2) years of directly relevant environmental or oil and gas field experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience in environmental field work, with a strong preference for experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with the operation and basic maintenance of electronic monitoring equipment, including familiarity with compressors, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and liquid pumps commonly found in oil and gas operations.
  • Solid understanding of onshore oil and gas production, drilling, and completion site operations and associated equipment.
  • Proven prior experience utilizing FLIR (Forward-Looking Infrared) cameras for conducting OGI inspections and implementing LDAR programs is a mandatory requirement.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of current state (e.g., Ohio, Pennsylvania) and federal (e.g., 40 CFR Part 60 Subparts OOOOa and OOOOb) air compliance regulations specifically applicable to oil and gas exploration and production activities.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, effectively manage personal schedules, and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and achieve objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with vendors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (with a strong emphasis on Word and Excel) and the aptitude to learn and manage additional electronic data management systems.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company policy.

Working Conditions
  • Must be willing and able to consistently work (70-80% of time) in varying weather conditions and rough terrain.
  • Approximately 20-30% of the time will be spent in an office environment.

Physical Requirements
  • See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
  • Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
  • Must be able to performphysical work – exerting up to 50pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
