Applied Intuition in the US is seeking a Perception Engineer to build the perception layer of an autonomy stack for uncrewed air vehicles. You will transform noisy sensor data into a reliable airspace picture, combining state estimation and learning-based methods while shipping production-ready software.

The role demands deep knowledge of estimation theory, machine learning, and performance-driven C++ on Linux.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field plus 3+ years building perception or estimation software for autonomous systems.
• Strong modern C++ (17/20) for real-time, performance-critical code on Linux with Eigen and profiling.
• Solid grounding in state estimation: Kalman filter variants (EKF/UKF), IMM, covariance handling.
• Experience with multi-target tracking and sensor fusion: data association and track management.
• Python for data pipelines, analysis and visualization of logged data and simulations.
• Experience validating algorithms in simulation and with recorded data.

Responsabilités

• Develop, integrate, and adapt cutting-edge AI/ML algorithms running on the perception autonomy stack to collect information from platform sensors.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control sensors (EO, IR, acoustics, radar, RF).
• Collaborate across sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for deployment in DoD testing and demonstrations.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices with in-loop testing and profiling.
• Interact with the DoD customer to understand use cases and deliver a superior customer experience.
