Applied Intuition is seeking a Perception Engineer to build the perception layer of an autonomy stack for uncrewed air vehicles. You will design real‑time C++ algorithms, implement tooling and simulations, and translate research prototypes into deployable software.

The role spans estimation, sensor fusion, and ML for prediction, with emphasis on rigorous measurement and production readiness. Collaboration with DoD testers is a key facet of the work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong modern C++ (17/20) for real‑time, performance‑critical code on Linux.
• Solid grounding in state estimation: Kalman filter variants (EKF/UKF), IMM, covariance handling.
• Experience with multi‐target tracking and sensor fusion: data association and track management.
• Working knowledge of ML for prediction, including sequence models and training pipelines.
• Python for data pipelines and visualization of runs.
• Experience validating algorithms in simulation and with recorded data.

Responsabilités

• Develop, integrate, and adapt AI/ML algorithms for perception stack.
• Create interfacing software to autonomously control sensors.
• Collaborate across sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams for DoD testing deployments.
• Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and profile performance.
• Engage with DoD customers to understand use cases and triage needs.
