Job summary

Mayo Aviation is seeking an experienced pilot to fly single-pilot air ambulance missions from Durango, CO, using the King Air 200. You will coordinate rapid-response launches, perform thorough preflight planning, and ensure strict safety standards across all personnel and equipment involved.

Ideal candidates hold an unrestricted ATP, First Class Medical, and extensive PIC hours; a strong FARs background and willingness to relocate or reside near Durango are required.

Qualifications

• 2,500 flight hours total, 500 multi-engine, 1,000 PIC.
• Current First Class Medical and ATP (Unrestricted).
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Live within one hour of Durango, CO or willing to relocate.
• Strong knowledge of FARs and safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Operate the King Air 200 as single-pilot for air ambulance missions across the Front Range and neighboring states.
• Maintain readiness at the Durango base for rapid-response launches on ~800-mile average missions.
• Conduct thorough preflight planning and inspections; ensure airworthiness and procedures.
• Oversee safe loading of patients, medical crews, equipment, and baggage; ensure weight and balance.
• Coordinate with dispatch, ground crews, and medical teams for on-time mission execution.
• Uphold FAA regulations and Flight for Life Colorado procedures; contribute to Safety Management System.
