Copperas Cove ISD is seeking a Title Intervention Aide to assist teachers with classroom activities and administrative duties under the supervision of a certified teacher.

The role involves preparing instructional materials, scoring assessments, maintaining displays, supervising students, and supporting staff development. The position is nonexempt with an 187-day schedule and duties across campus.

Qualifications

  • Requires 48 college credits, an Associate's degree, or ESSA paraprofessional qualification.
  • Ability to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Ability to work well with children and communicate effectively.
  • Some experience working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students under the direction of a teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
  • Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
  • Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or assignments.
  • Help maintain neat and orderly classroom and assist with inventory and care of equipment.
  • Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports; orientation for substitutes.
  • Supervise students throughout the day (lunchroom, bus, playground) and communicate needs.
  • Participate in staff development and faculty meetings; perform other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Principal and Teachers assigned

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assist the teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and

administrative requirements. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the

immediate direction of a certified teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

Must have one of the following:

  • 48 hours of college credit, or
  • Associate's Degree or higher, or
  • have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) such as the Paraprofessional Academy offered by a Regional Service Center
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Ability to work well with children
  • Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
  • Some experience working with children
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Instructional Support
  • Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual

Student Management

  • Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
Other
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance
  • Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment

Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping

Motion: Moderate walking

Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 50 pounds)

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
