Job Description
Job Title: Graphic Design Teacher’s Aide

Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Campus Principal

Pay Grade: A04A

Days: 187

Primary Purpose

To perform assigned tasks and assist the teacher and students in carrying out the daily activities of the school.

Qualifications

Required Experience: Some experience working with secondary students; skills to manage student behavior and must have the ability to communicate effectively, work with others as a team, organize and maintain reports, manage time and resources effectively and efficiently.

Education/Certification:

  • Ability to meet the No Child Left Behind requirements
  • Associate’s Degree or 48 semester hours, or Academic Assessment
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with administrators, teachers, students, and parents, possess good organizational skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties

To fulfill the responsibilities of this position the duties shall include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Assisting in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the CTE teacher
  • Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment
  • Setting up print shop/screen shop and preparing needed materials and supplies
  • Cutting and prepping materials, cutting and fabricating vinyl lettering
  • Running a large format digital printer and applying prints to a variety of substrates
  • Printing and finishing of banners
  • Assist in running the manual screen press, reclaiming, coating and shooting screens
  • Setting up registration on screens
  • Supervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the room
  • Assisting the teacher in any other appropriate ways
  • Maintaining professional attitudes and loyalty to the CTE program
  • Treating all children with dignity and respect
  • Attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences
  • Participating in professional workshops that work for the improvement of Career and Technical Education
  • Maintaining confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees outside the school
Working Conditions

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
