Job summary

Katalist, the AI video production platform, is hiring a content director to create and direct video content end-to-end inside the platform. This role emphasizes hands-on creative control across script, storyboard, and edit, not just prompt-based outputs.

You will collaborate directly with the founders on core product and UX decisions, work on internal case studies and customer demos, and deliver immediate, visible impact on a product used by thousands of filmmakers.

Qualifications

• Strong creative eye with a distinct visual handwriting style.
• Hands-on with AI image/video tools such as Nano Banana, GPT Image and Figma Weave.
• Able to iterate with customer focus and take direction well.

About the role

You'll create and direct video content end-to-end inside Katalist, our AI video production platform. This is not a prompt-in, video-out job. We build videos the way professionals do: with control, iteration, and creative judgment across script, storyboard, and edit. You bring the taste and the craft; the tool handles the pipeline.

Work spans internal case studies, customer demos, and first-of-a-kind projects that push what the product can do (new verticals, new product types, new styles).

What we’re looking for

• Strong creative eye and a distinct visual style ("handwriting"), not AI slop
• Hands‑on experience with AI image/video tools (e.g. Nano Banana, GPT Image, and canvas-based tools like Figma Weave)
• Comfort iterating and taking creative direction, including work that prioritizes customer satisfaction over your own perfectionism
• Reliability and transparency on availability
• Nice to have: advertising, campaign, or commercial production background
