Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a front-end design lead to translate complex AI processes into intuitive interfaces. You will build scalable UI libraries for generative AI interactions using React and TypeScript, while prototyping new human-AI collaboration patterns and ensuring accessibility in line with EUI.

Qualifications

• Experience creating UIs for GenAI applications, including conversational interfaces and dynamic prompt builders.
• Strong frontend expertise with React, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS/Sass, with modular architecture.
• Experience with asynchronous UI state, WebSockets and SSE for streaming responses.
• Background in UX/UI design, wireframing, design systems, and rapid prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Translate AI processes into intuitive front-end interfaces.
• Build and maintain scalable, accessible UI component libraries for generative AI interactions.
• Prototype novel interaction patterns for conversational AI and agent workflows.
• Optimize UI performance for real-time AI responses and streaming latency.
• Connect front-end to internal services and RAG endpoints.
• Collaborate with UX, PMs and backend engineers to refine AI workflows.
• Ensure accessibility and alignment with Elastic's design system (EUI).
• Implement front-end analytics to monitor UX metrics.
